The docu-film Dance for An Ideal City is a project that tells the different ways of experiencing dance within public places and through different languages, developed between Athens, Brussels, Rome and Reggio Emilia. These small danced fragments, interpreted by both company dancers and amateur dancers, bring out a landscape of infinite variables and the design of a movement that takes place in a conceptual environment, which can therefore be used in a non-traditional way.
A video-story, signed by the director Daniele Costa and written by the art critic Nicolas Ballario, which investigates the possibility of reinterpreting urban places through contemporary dance, in particular with the MicroDanze project of the Fondazione Nazionale della Danza / Aterballetto (a of the most prestigious contemporary dance companies in Italy and the first and only Italian National Choreographic Center), through interviews with artists and curators (including the choreographer Angelin Preljocaj, the art historian Angela Vettese, the visual-artist Gianmaria Tosatti, the art curators Nadja Argyropolou and Costanza Meli and the director of Aterballetto Gigi Cristoforetti).
In my research I translate parentheses of contemporary experience into filmic material, in an attempt to investigate human singularity and the reflections that it projects in the narration of a collective story. To do this, I investigate on the one hand the functioning of the human body through the direct learning of medical-scientific notions, so that they reveal the synchronicity and rhythmicity by which it is regulated, the structures and autonomous functioning that are technically unknown to us even though they belong to us. On the other hand, I deepen my knowledge of an individual by focusing on aspects of his life that define him and place him in his own context of reference, with reference to the interpretative need that he implements towards what surrounds him.
